gave a rating of 3 and that was being generous.
i acknowledge that this is a light read; a generally common premise; guy is rich but not an a-hole, girl is independent but with a secret. it put me on a general feeling of excitement and then it came plunging down to the last few pages. this is it? i was expecting an in depth tackling of her supposed situation back in NY but all i got was a very minute detail and then it was the end. there wasn't even an attempt for retaliation from celia or from evan.
i am very easily pleased but i can't help but be disappointed as i was expecting more and yet it felt short. i haven't any idea if this is part of a series and whatnot but even if it was, i sort of wish it would stand on its own. this is my 1st MAYA BANKS book but i can give the others a try. hopefully, the others wouldn't leave me hanging like what this did to me.
i am seriously obsessed of my cds. they're like my babies and i take pride in looking at them. my work station at home actually faces my cabinet where my cds are at, and it kinda distracts me in a good way. lol.
my BIGBANG cds. i have a goal of collecting all their releases hopefully i can do it before the year ends..
my 2ne1 stuffs. i wish i could get a taiwan version too. :(

my baby boys are back after 1 yr and BOY DID THEY MURDERED EVERYBODY. 2011 was a tough year for Bigbang. Daesung got involved in a car accident resulting to the death of a man in MAY and G-Dragon was tested positive for a miniscule amount of marijuana. it was a time we all thought, that was the end for BIGBANG but lo and behold, they came back and they are rockin it!
first they released BLUE and my initial thought was... OK.
if i remember corectly, i was already cursing STRONG HEART for taking too much time, when all i wanted was for it to end so we can all finally see the premiere of the video SHOT ENTIRELY IN NEW YORK CITY! lol
in all honesty, i was underwhelmed. i don't know. probably i set my expectation too high, idk. but after several repeats, it started to grow on me that i can't even STOP repeating it. BIGBANG does a lot of wonders to my feelings...
and then a week after BAD BOY was released and BOY how sexy this song is. LOL
i cannot even remember what my reaction was, but all i know is initially, i liked this song better than BLUE.
and then finally, FANTASTIC BABY. i guess its safe to say that out of all the songs in the mini album, FANTASTIC baby is what nternational VIPS are rally looking forward to, from the momnt YGE released th tracklist, tho while we know that its going to be a dance song, we were all basically just wondering how epic this could be. after all A LOT of people connected to YGE have said that FANTASTIC BABY is an AWESOME dance track.: from Song Baek Young of 1tym, to the American staffs of the ALIVE TOUR, and even the BAND members; everyone said there won't be anyone who will not DANCE while listening to the song.
and cmon! with a title like that, who would even doubt the epicness it will bring. BOOM SHAKALAKA!!!
and damn. the song did lived to the expectation. mind you th first glimpse of fantastic baby live came at the Concert, and while a lot of us are expecting some kind of a shuffling thing, w were blown away by the epicness of the dance itself. IT WAS THAT awesome.
then a few days after they released the MV and damn. it was a spash of mindblowing visual fantasy...!!!
i did commented a lot tho that TAEYANG-baby needs to calm down a bit. he was too intense in the MV XD
lets not forget to mention the EPICNESS that is track no. 1 or the Intro , and AINT NO FUn and LOVE DUST. both songs are too epic to watch live!
aint no fun [재미없어]
love dust [사랑먼지]
and how awesome the VIP chants at the start of LOVE DUST!! XD
and then last but not the least. WINGS by Daesung. my BABY blonde smiling angel daesung.
NO WORDS. just watch the epicness unfold.
:)
i'll post a few pictures of the physical albums later on. XD
on March 23rd, The Korean Cultural Center of the Philippines or KCC held a 2-hr special class on Korean Traditional Painting or SA-GUN-JA (사군자)
Sagunja (사군자):The Four Gracious Plants The Four Gracious Plants are comprised of plum, orchid, chrysanthemum and bamboo. More than decorative art, these popular themes in Korea traditional painting are also depictions of a way of life. These Four Gracious Plants represent the four seasons, with Plum for Spring, Orchids for Summer, Chrysanthemum for Autumn and Bamboo for winter. In Confucian culture, these four are generally the characteristics of a wise man
this is a free class! KCC always holds free classes for cultural appreciation and i am glad i went and chose this class for my first time! i had a lot of fun!
that's teacher aira
each table of about 5-6 students are assigned with their own 선생님 (seosaengnim) or teacher volunteers. the table that i shared with a 할머니 (halmoni/grandma), a Korean Mother with her 2 kids, (and later on 2 other girls who were 30 minutes late) with teacher 아이라 (Aira) is laden with old newspapers and handouts. We were also provided with the necessary materials like the Calligraphy brush pens, a shuan-like pieces of paper for practice, colored pencils, and stuff, and the special folding canvass.
halmeoni. she is working hard. cr KCC
the 2 Korean kids with their Mom. it's nice seeing that living in a foreign country,
they still take time to learn their old traditions and culture Cr. KCC
our table
the first one i did was Orchids for summer. i asked Teacher Aira if there is a certain technique or ruling when holding the brush and she said, the strokes she's teaching us are the basic of it, but it is still up to our liking.
shaky hands. it should be one continuous stroke as usual.
we were told to practice for 30 minutes but told us to mind our spacings and proportions as we would have to choose our best works out of all and cut it out and paste it on the special canvass.
laiding out the drawings on the special canvass MUST follow the rules of season. it should come after the other. :)
this is our reference :)
the chrysantemum for autumn is quite fun. i enjoyed it a lot. i had a trouble tho, coz my favorite out of all my drawings couldn't fit in the canvass.. :( i had to repeat again.
i really liked this. too bad i messed up my borders...
ive always thought ive mastered painting bamboos. my college thesis theme was nature and it had bamboo paintings. :) painting the bamboo's with traditional technique in mind was a bit disconcerting. i had to let out what i used to and internalize the new process. After all, you need to feel relaxed while doing this. this should be away of life. :)
personally, the hardest in my opinion was the Plum tree branches that represents Spring. IT WAS HARD.. TT^TT even teacher Aira noticed my difficulty...
anyhu, this is my finished work! :)
and i got to write my name at the back! how's my handwriting? :)
i'm looking forward for more classes to attend to if my schdule permits! :)
